Tejas Chicken Stir Fry is a vibrant and flavorful dish that captures the essence of Texan and Mexican flavors.
This stir fry combines succulent tender pieces of chicken breast with a medley of sweet peppers and onions, all served over a bed of perfectly cooked rice. The result is a delightful and satisfying meal that celebrates a fusion of flavors and textures. We start tender strips of chicken breasts that are seasoned with a blend of Tejas-inspired spices, evoking the robust and smoky flavors characteristic of Texan cuisine. The chicken is then seared to a golden perfection, locking in its juices and creating a tantalizingly crisp exterior, we a sizzling sweet peppers and onions and serve over a bed of fluffy white rice.
Did you know that the name “Tejas" is the Spanish spelling of a Caddo word taysha, which means "friend". In the 17th century Spanish settlers referred to western region as the area that had the Caddo, the friends "the great kingdom of Tejas" and the name lived on to become the name of the 28th state of the United States—Texas.
Trays are oven and microwave friendly.
Microwave: Remove sleeve, lift the corner of film, place on microwave plate, microwave for 2 minutes or until hot, cut film away from corner edge with knife, and remove. Let stand for 2 minutes. Based on a 1100 watt microwave oven. DO NOT LIFT TRAY, LIFT ON MICROWAVABLE PLATE.
Oven: Remove sleeve, cut film away from corner edge with knife, and remove. Place on oven sheet pan. Heat on 350°F degrees for 20 - 25 minutes until hot. Heat to 165°F degrees (Internal Temperature). Remove tray on pan DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT TRAY BY ITSELF. LIFT TRAY ON MICROWAVABLE PLATE OR OVEN SAFE PAN. USE HOT PADS TO REMOVE.
