This recipe was an experiment gone right, not only right, a home run! We took our homemade rum cake recipe, nixed the rum, and added fresh lemon juice. We make a lemon syrup with butter, sugar and fresh lemon juice. The syrup seeps down into the cake like a sponge. This moist cake will melt in your mouth and perk a kiss on your front porch.
