Southern Red Beans & Rice, Collard Greens, Cornbread

Simply southern and delicious. This authentic version of red beans and rice starts with soaking our beans and slow cooking in ham hocks, bacon, sausage, onions, celery and fresh herbs and spices, rendering a delicious gravy. Served with white rice, our freshly made collard greens and a mini cornbread loaf.

Trays are oven and microwave friendly. Remove Condiments and Sauce containers.

Microwave: Remove sleeve, lift the corner of film, place on microwave plate, microwave for 2 minutes or until hot, cut film away from corner edge with knife, and remove. Let stand for 2 minutes. Based on a 1100 watt microwave oven. DO NOT LIFT TRAY, LIFT ON MICROWAVABLE PLATE

Oven: Remove sleeve, cut film away from corner edge with knife, and remove. Place on oven sheet pan. Heat on 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes until hot. Heat to 165 degrees. Remove tray on pan DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT TRAY BY ITSELF. LIFT TRAY ON MICROWAVABLE PLATE OR OVEN SAFE PAN. USE HOT PADS TO REMOVE.

Red beans, rice, ham hocks, bacon, pork and beef sausage, corn starch, canola oil, collard greens, green bell peppers, chicken broth, onions, green onions, celery, sugar, garlic, shallots, thyme, oregano, bay leaves, house seasoning, corn bread (enriched wheat flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, water, soybean oil, eggs, corn flour, corn syrup, dough softener (mono and diglycerides, sodium stearoyl lactylate), baking powder (sodium aluminum phosphate, sodium bicarbonate, monocalcium phosphate), modified food starch, salt, potassium sorbate (preservative), xanthan gum, enzymes.

The best red beans and rice.

We all agreed that it wasn’t over salted and strong like zatarains or other places. Very good and full of flavor. It was also our first time having collard greens. Everyone liked them, I preferred mixing them into the red beans and rice. Will definitely get again. We would personally consider this two portions next time.

Southern Red Beans & Rice

This meal was right on point with the Southern dish I've grown up with! The greens were smoky & flavorful & the cornbread was moist and not too sweet. The gravy in the red beans & rice was not too spicy, just the right consistency & had loads of smoked sausage. I only gave it 4 stars because, there was basically only one serving, so I couldn't split this and call it a meal for 2. Get 2 of these if you're feeding more than one. It's worth it!
