    Decadent Double Layer Cake w/Fresh Fruit

    Large slice of a double layer cake with a berry filling and fresh fruit was a bit sweeter (and wetter due to the filling) than we expected. I assume the filling was homemade but may have been a strawberry or raspberry jam rather than a coulis. I may recommend a squeeze of lemon juice in the filling to counterbalance the sweetness from both the icing and the filling. The fruit added a nice sweet-tart acidity to the cake.

    This is superb cake. The fruit puree with the rich chocolate is incredible!! I would eat this daily it’s that good.
